Brooklyn based artist Julia Chiang uses a wide variety of materials in her sculpture and installation based work, including nostalgic and sweet ring pops. The colorful candy has been used by Chiang in a number of works often employed as pixels spelling out words. The candy jewels atop the rings melts over time under gallery lights and slowly drips down the walls. The melted sugar stains the surfaces it touches.

So you just saw the new Alice In Wonderland directed by Tim Burton in your fancy 3D glasses with high quality sound and special effects. Well check this... The British Film Institute has released a restoration of the very first Alice in Wonderland film from 1903. Shot on 35mm, the film was directed by Cecil Hepworth and Percy Stow. With a running time of just 12 minutes (8 of which survive), Alice in Wonderland was the longest film produced in England at that time and is absolutely fascinating.
